What our Clients Say
I started riding with Lee and family in 2019 and can’t recommend them highly enough.
After 2 years of not riding following the retirement of my horse the stables were suggested to me but having competed in showjumping and showing at National level in South Africa representing my country in both disciplines and going on to work in the horse riding holiday industry in the Okavango Delta, Botswana - I was hesitant.
I am so pleased that I booked that hour ride because I went from being ready to give up riding to finding my love of riding and horses once again now having 2 of my own.
I am always learning and will be always grateful to be doing this alongside Lee, who I truly believe to be not only a very knowledgeable and accomplished rider, but also a very gifted horseman. Thanks to you all, my dream of owning a young horse completely untouched is now a reality.

Sandford Stables was my last shot at riding again.
Having ridden as a child and lost my confidence I’d tried several stables as an adult and never found one that worked for me, that was friendly and cared about more that just getting people out for a ride.
Lee’s patient teaching took me from a rider that was too nervous to go out on a group ride to being able to loan a horse through lockdown, canter across fields and jump over logs.
In learning more about groundwork and horse psychology I built my confidence from a solid base and haven’t looked back.
I’m so glad I gave it one last shot and that I found Lee and family. Being with the horses and meeting new friends has brought so much joy into my life.

Working with Lee has transformed my relationship with my horse and myself.
I initially brought Fergus to Lee for a couple of months of training. Two years later we’re still here! Lee doesn’t just teach you to ride, he’s a truly gifted horseman. He deeply understands both horses and humans and brings the two together in the most beautiful of ways.
