We are a friendly family run business

Previously known as Woodhouse Stables, the Sandford family first opened with 4 rescue horses and slowly the riders appeared.

“The word spread and before we knew it our horse family expanded. Now we are the owners of 25 horses and ponies, running our fully licenced and insured business in the beautiful countryside.”

The stables are open all year round and welcomes riders from the age of 4yrs and up, from complete beginners to experienced riders.

Our horses range from Shetlands and New Forests to Dutch Warm Blood, Iris Draughts and our beautiful Boulonnais standing at 17hh .

Everyone is welcome, so if you have never been riding before and would like to try something new or if you are an experienced rider and want to explore the countryside, then come and Saddle Up with the Sandfords and ride with us across some of Devon and Dorset’s most beautiful countryside. Trek through farmland, woodlands and bridleways and enjoy some amazing views on the way.
